Aurelia’s family has always been poor; her father, Meldon, has always been a miller by trade. While her family didn’t always live in the capital of Astren, her parents had moved to Lathe shortly before she was born, so it was the only home she’d ever known. Unfortunately, not long after her birth, her mother passed away.

As soon as she was able, Aurelia took up spinning wool into yarn to try and scrape by. It was what her mother did before she passed away, and when she inherited her mother’s daylily necklace, she also inherited the spinning wheel in the corner. Between all the spinning, the mill, and her father’s… hesitant-to-trust nature regarding strangers, Aurelia stayed busy and kept to herself. Of course, she had a friend, and it wasn’t just because Sandor let her borrow his books. Aurelia doesn’t expect much from life, but when a mysterious stranger shows up on her doorstep, maybe things won’t stay the same.
