Mirrors of Ice Cover Reveal

Mirrors of Ice is going to be here soon, and I can’t wait to share it with you all! If you’re on my newsletter list, you’ve already gotten to see the cover, but I didn’t talk about it in depth. And, I haven’t shared the cover officially elsewhere, so here it is!

All the credit for this stunning cover goes to my cover designer, Karri Klawiter at ArtbyKarri.com. She did a fantastic job bringing it to life. It is exactly what I envisioned for Mirrors of Ice.

In case you aren’t familiar with the series, Mirrors of Ice is the second book in my Bewitching Fairy Tales Series, which is a series of high-fantasy, young adult fairy tale retellings. Stalks of Gold, a Rapunzel/Rumpelstiltskin retelling was the first, and following it is Mirrors of Ice, a retelling that combines Snow White and The Snow Queen.

This cover features our leading lady, Princess Eirwen of Glaciar, and my designer couldn’t have done a better job nailing Eirwen’s appearance. She is our Snow White figure, so the pale skin, red lips, and black hair is all part of that package, and the dress is absolutely stunning! (I promise this isn’t a spoiler, it’s in the blurb, and if you want to know nothing, this is your warning!) The black dress is part of Eirwen’s mourning outfit that she wears at the start of the book, and this is the perfect match. The silver detailing makes it pop, and while a mourning outfit, Eirwen is a princess, so the silver makes it really regal.

There’s also the cracked mirror in Eirwen’s hand, which if you know Snow White and The Snow Queen, mirrors are part of both, but you’ll have to read Mirrors of Ice to see just how the mirror factors in! The landscape behind Eirwen perfectly encapsulates Eirwen’s country, Glaciar, which sits at the northern tip of the continent and is known for harsh winters.

So, I know most people really love blue, and I’m usually not one of them, but this cover has changed my mind! It’s converted me to loving blue for sure, and honestly, there’s really no other color suited for a Snow Queen retelling, well, blue and white! My designer really nailed the Snow Queen atmosphere, and Eirwen’s appearance is so regal it hits the Snow White aspect for sure.

As for how those two stories play out together, you’ll have to read Mirrors of Ice to find out! I’ll see you all next time with a peek at the first chapter!
