Merry Christmas!
Hey there! Today I’m taking a quick break from my series of posts about Stalks of Gold to wish you all a Merry Christmas, if you celebrate it. If not, have a happy December 25th!
One of my favorite things about Christmas is watching all of the Hallmark Christmas movies leading up to the holiday. There’s just something about them. It’s like eating candy, just something simple and sweet and sometimes a little predictable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. Don’t get wrong, I’m all about intense, dramatic movies too, but with end-of-the-year stress (especially this year) something a little mindless is just what I need.
However, if mindless romantic fluff covered in Christmas decorations isn’t up your alley, I totally get that. There’s tons of classic Christmas movies to watch instead. But, if I’m being honest, my favorite movies isn’t a classic… yet. Last year, Netflix released an animated Christmas movie called Klaus, and let me just tell you, I already consider it a classic.
Essentially, it’s a Santa Claus origin story, but I feel like that’s over simplifying it. It really is a good, fun story with absolutely beautiful 2D animation that I just don’t see produced often anymore. It’s worth watching for the animation alone, if you ask me, but don’t worry! Everything about it is fantastic!
I feel like last year I didn’t really hear a lot of people talking about it, but I’m hoping it’ll get more love as time goes on. Until then, I’ll just keep watching it on Christmas for all of us! I hope you all have a lovely day with your families, and I’ll see you next week!
