What is a Street Team?

A street team is a special group of readers who love an author and are excited about spreading the word about their books to others! There are a lot of books published every year, and it’s estimated there are over 8 million books in the Kindle store on Amazon with more being added every day, which makes it harder and harder for readers to find the authors who write the books they love and for authors to find readers who love their style and work.

That’s where you come in. Because the best way for authors and readers to find each other is through readers like you who love to spread the word about the books you love!

What does a Street Team specifically do?

Here’s what being on my street team will look like right now: When I have an event I could use some help spreading the word about, I will reach out to you all for the opportunity to share about it to your social media accounts. This could be for a cover reveal, a new release, a sale, etc. Participation in an event is completely voluntary, and you can choose to participate in only the events related to the books and series you like from me!

Every event will have a specific purpose and specific dates associated with it for participation. I will provide images you can use for any event that comes up to make your life simpler, but you are always welcome to make a unique one for yourself! Once the event has finished, there will be a form for you to submit your posts, so I know who participated. That’s important because…

For every event you participate in, there will be something from me to say thank you! This might be an entry into a giveaway that is exclusive to all of you for a gift card, a physical book or book related swag, or a first look at a book, an exclusive bonus scene, and so on!

Is this the same thing as the ARC team?

Nope! The ARC team is a separate group. The ARC (Advance Review Copy) team receives ARCs in order to be able to read the books and write honest reviews to post on Amazon, Goodreads, or other sites, ideally before or around release. There is no obligation or expectation for the ARC team to also be on the Street Team.

Because Amazon and Goodreads are very clear and strict about ensuring the integrity of the reviews on their sites, they do not allow reviews to be paid for or incentivized. So in order to make sure you and I stay on their good side, that’s why the ARC team and Street Team are separate since the Street Team does get goodies for posting. You are more than welcome to be on both teams; there is no issue with that!
